Abraxis Oncology's revolutionary nanoparticle albumin-bound (nab™) technology exploits the natural properties of albumin for the targeted and biologically interactive delivery of cytotoxic compounds. nab™ technology facilitates the binding of water-insoluble compounds to albumin globules approximately 1/100th the size of a single red blood cell. This delivery system eliminates the side effects associated with solvents and allows for increased delivery of the cytotoxin to the tumor.
